We would like to say a massive thank you to all our supporters for everything they do for the Veterans of Erskine, their kindness and generosity is simply wonderful.
The Kilmacolm Golf Club Ladies Section started a Bridge Evening back in 1977 to raise funds for Erskine. It continues to this day. To date they have donated £22,732. A huge thank-you to all who took part and for continuing to support the Veterans over the last 45 years. Pictured with Community Fundraiser Jim Watret is Rosemary Hammond the Event Organiser and the Ladies Section Captain Stella Bowie.
Brian Goldie used to be the President of the Robert Burns World Federation. After carrying out a recital at the Rotary Club of Paisley Brian asked for his fee to be donated to Erskine. The Rotary Club then topped it up to £500. Brian also donated some malt whisky for the Residents to have a wee dram. Huge thank-you to Brian, his wife Joyce and the Rotary Club of Paisley for their very kind and thoughtful gesture. Pictured are: Peter Pringle of the Rotary Club of Paisley, Joyce Goldie, Brian Goldie & Stewart Stevenson who is President of the Rotary Club of Paisley.
John Oliver and his son Callum will be trekking up Ben Nevis on the 26th May to raise funds for Erskine. John is a regular fundraiser for many veterans charities however after hearing Community Fundraiser Jim Watret deliver a talk about Erskine he decided that this time the money both he and his son will raise should come to Erskine. Thank you from all at Erskine.
The Lodge Airdrie St John No 166 at their annual Charity Presentation evening presented a cheque for £200 to Erskine. Your kindness is much appreciated. Every year the Lodge hold this event and around a dozen charities benefit. An interesting fact about the Lodge is that when the public appeal went out to raise funds right at the very start in 1916 for the Princess Louise Scottish Hospital for Limbless Sailors and Soldiers, the Lodge donated £5.
