Veterans Foundation Generous Donation

The Erskine Activities Centre’s new bespoke gym has been going from strength to strength since opening its doors in June of this year.  Personal trainers Alistair Lamb and Annie Earley have provided nearly 70 Inductions for Veterans ranging from 34–95 in age.  Whether it is weight loss, improved mental health or functional fitness Trainers Alistair and Annie have it covered with individual performance programmes.

Helping our Veterans achieve tip top shape is a fantastic range of first-class equipment, purchased with an extremely generous donation of £25,761 from the Veterans Foundation.

From squat and mobility stations to punch bags, skiing, rowing and cardio equipment to weights this fantastic new facility has it all.

Veterans Foundation Grants Manager Louise Buchanan popped along to the Centre to see for herself the gym and equipment in action.  She watched Veterans Frank and George being put through their paces by Trainer Alistair Lamb before unveiling a plaque commemorating the generous funding provided.

Activities Centre Manager Debs Dickson said: ‘The ERMAC gym has been the final piece of the puzzle in developing the Activity Centre. We are absolutely delighted to be able to offer our Veterans the opportunity to improve their physical and mental wellbeing whilst in a safe space. The diversity of the project is reflected in the age groups that have already been using the equipment.’
