Walking the West Highland Way for Erskine

Mother and son Linda and Darren from Wishaw took on the mighty West Highland Way and fundraised for the Erskine Veterans at the same time.

Over six days they walked the 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William which features some of the very best scenery and fantastic landscapes Scotland has to offer. And it has to be said some of the the very best and worst of Scottish weather.  However they finished the walk unscathed and this epic challenge raised a brilliant £440 for Erskine.

Linda said: “We decided on Erskine as I saw two men in my local Tesco trying to get people to sign up and give monthly donations. I thought this was ridiculous that they were having to do this as these men and women fought and got injured, doing things for their country and now were needing donations to help with looking after them. So I thank you all for your service”.

Fundraiser Sharon Meiklejohn said: “We can’t thank Linda and Darren enough for this generous donation which will help us continue to support almost 1,000 Veterans each year through our accommodation, activities and employment.”
